Dr. Kessler's Previous Background
"Born and raised in Philadelphia, I was only in third grade when I failed the school eye exam. I have since worn and broken more glasses than I care to recall. It was not until the summer after I graduated from college when my life hit its turning point. While on a camping trip, I had the misfortune of scratching my cornea. A seemingly unfortunate event, it soon became clear it was the opposite, as I was treated by a very kind ophthalmologist, who encouraged me to go to medical school. Taking his words to heart, I did just that. I have always remembered how grateful I felt toward him for his kind caring treatment of my eye. When I started my practice, I committed myself to treating my patients with the same excellent care and empathy that I had experienced."
