Briana Brunner, M.D.
Dr. Briana Brunner is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist at Carroll Vision Center, who specializes in cataract and refractive surgery.
Dr. Brunner was raised in Myrtle Beach, SC with her parents and three siblings. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Clemson University where she graduated summa cum laude. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Brunner completed her internal medicine internship at Drexel University in Philadelphia followed by three years of ophthalmology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, where she served as chief resident. Following residency, Dr. Brunner completed a subspecialty fellowship in cataract and refractive surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Majid Moshirfar at Hoopes Vision in Salt Lake City, UT.
Dr. Brunner practices medical and surgical comprehensive ophthalmology including management of cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration. She specializes in cataract surgery (both traditional and laser-assisted), MIGS (Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery), ICL (implantable contact lens) surgery, and anterior segment surgery. Additionally, she is pleased to now offer the Light Adjustable Lens, the latest in lens technology to her cataract surgery patients. She has published several papers in leading peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Brunner’s husband grew up in Carroll County and they relocated to the area to be closer to family. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Brunner enjoys spending time with her husband and young son, being outdoors, cooking, traveling, and running.
